Laser Hair Removal

How Laser Hair Removal Works

During the process of hair removal, a laser emits light that is absorbed by the melanin (colour) in the hair. This energy converts to heat that impairs the hair follicle, delaying and stopping future hair growth.

Our top-of-the-line machine by CUTERA ensures long-term results as it has two wave lengths specific for hair removal. This device allows us to treat all skin types.

  • Is laser hair removal permanent?

When it comes to laser hair removal, the results are typically long-lasting, sometimes for several years. Overall, general hair re-growth will be reduced with treatments, but hair can eventually grow back, though not as thick as before.
  • How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?

The average patient starts with 6-8 treatments and will see significant results; however, more laser hair removal treatments may be required for more reduction or maintenance.
  • Is there recovery time?

Most patients have minimal to low downtime after a session. There may be slight redness in the area for approximately 2-24 hours following the treatment. It is recommended that patients avoid activity that will increase the temperature of the skin such as using a steam room, performing vigorous exercise, and exposing the treated area to the sun unprotected.
  • How long does a treatment take?

While it depends on the area, a typical treatment lasts between 15-60 minutes.
